The echo of invisible constellations is an expanded 16mm film installation, consisting of two static shots of opposite ends of a disused basketball court in East London (since demolished for the 2012 Olympics). As the films progress, black Letraset dots begin to eclipse, erase and undo them, questioning the 'truth' of the filmic image. Taking Henri Bergson's notion of 'duration' and Lefebvre's concept of the 'moment' as starting points, the work attempts to examine everyday life's potential points of transcendence and reveal the hidden rhythms, or unconscious of urban space.
